I know that eating healthy or trying to lose weight can seem really confusing. The research is all over the place. Eat meat. Don’t eat meat. Carbs are good. Carbs are bad. It all seems like a bad horror flick full of more tricks than treats.
Health, wellness and thriving are about more than what we eat. What we think is just as important.
When I was first diagnosed with MS, I wondered what lesson I was supposed to learn from it. Was I to learn to slow down? To pursue my dreams? While I did end up slowing down and pursuing my dreams, I have come to believe there was NO lesson. Instead, I have come to believe that our health, or ill-health, is solely a product of our creation and that I had created my ill-health.
There are a few reasons, but the common denominator is found in the concept of yin and yang – nature’s need to stay in balance. Diets, as they are conceived in our society, are based on deprivation. Not exactly consistent with our body’s desire for balance.
