This month’s writing prompt is sponsored by Sylvia van Bruggen of Playful Soulwork. Playful Soulwork is fun, seriously!

It’s time for another FemCentral writing prompt! Writing prompts are wonderful tools for self-discovery and for uncovering subconscious blocks and thought patterns. Sharing your prompt response is one way to release your issues, and declare your true self, to the world at large. Plus, it gives you the opportunity to help others who may be going through the same thing that you are. Facilitate personal growth and accrue some good karma, all through a simple writing exercise!
The Sun entered Pisces today, February 19, at 1:18am EST. Pisces is highly spiritual. It is also about dissolution of the Ego, of boundaries, and merging with Universal Consciousness. Thus, we can describe Pisces as being “spiritual but not religious.”
“Losing my religion” is an expression from the southern region of the United States that means “losing one’s temper or civility,” or “being at the end of one’s rope.” But, I am using it more literally. This month’s writing prompt asks you to explore your spirituality. Has it evolved? Is it different from how you were raised? Maybe you are highly spiritual and also deeply committed to your religion and believe they are inseparable. Or, you may be completely atheistic. There are no “right” or “wrong” answers to this prompt. (That would not be very “Pisces,” anyway!) Basically, I’m asking you to TESTIFY!
I anticipate that this topic may be difficult for some to write about, and especially to share publicly. That’s all the more reason why we should have this discussion. Remember, you can always request that your response be posted anonymously. Pisces is also about loss of personal identity!
Are you willing to give it a try?
During the next two weeks, write a 300-1200 word response to “Losing my religion.” Submit it to me, at jennifer@jenniferlshelton.com by March 4. In your submission, let me know if you would like for me to post your piece anonymously or with your full name. (Feel free to include a link to any social media or website.)
As incentive, I will enter the names of all who participate into a drawing for two months of the North Node email subscription. The winner will receive a weekly email, for two months, with affirmations and suggested meditations, to keep her on the path of her unique North Node. Read “Are You Ready to Commit to Your Life’s Purpose” for details. (If the winner is already subscribed to this program, I will extend her subscription by two months.)
Ready, Set, Testify!
